A day hike up Mt. Rose is a wonderful way to get out in the Tahoe Wilderness, breath the fresh air and enjoy some of the most gorgeous Tahoe scenery the area can afford. At the summit of Mt. Rose there is a huge parking lot. Behind the bathrooms is the trail head. Just follow it all the way up to the top. It will take you 2 to 3 hours to get to the top and much quicker down. There is a beautiful waterfall halfway and the top is pretty steep. The views are worth it and you get to see all the lakes around the Tahoe Reno area from the top. Have fun and bring plenty of water!!
